Summer Holidays begin….
We were so lucky to be able to use the new venue at Bickley Park school while Bromley High underwent maintenance work on the plant room and showers. The sun shone for the majority of the half term and the lessons had a real holiday feel about them with swimmers enjoying the pool and parents able to sit out on rugs on the grass areas. We repeated the RLSS National Drowning Prevention Week at the end of June and all swimmers learnt about beach flags and SAFE code as you can see in the gallery photos.
Although we could only cater for the lower groups the more advanced swimmers enjoyed the Summer Gala at Eric Liddell. 85 swimmers enjoyed winning a medal for their individual races and then competing as a team in a variety of races including egg and spoon, obstacle race and pairs noodles. The swimmers and spectators enjoyed a swim display by GB swimmer Billy Birchmore and great fun was had by all. Well done to the Orange team who won.
Take a look at the snapshot video in the media area of the website to get a flavour of the gala.
Summer Intensive starts next week at Bickley Park and then the A team hang up their wetsuits until September.
Lessons are due to re start at Bromley High mid/end of September while we look forward to continuing lessons at Bickley Park at the week ends and hot off the press lessons in Orpington to include Baby and Toddler lesson on Thursday mornings will start after October half term.
Enjoy the summer holidays – remember safe swimming.
