Snow to Spring and the the Summer term looms
What an eventful Spring term with snow disruption – which we haven’t had a for a few years but email, social ,media and website communication make it all much easier to pass on news.
We also had our first ever fire alarm and it was re assuring to see how quickly we evacuated the pool so all credit to the A team who did what was in our Emergency Action plan to the letter. There was indeed a small smoke fire in the PE office which is close to the pool but this was efficiently dealt with by the site team and swimmers were back in the water and more importantly (in their eyes), as it was the last session to get their Freddo!
The Easter break – was literally that for me as I managed to break my ankle while walking in Cornwall and this will see the summer term start without me being on poolside…..daren’t fall and hurt the other ankle, but I am extremely fortunate to have such a fantastic team who probably won’t even miss me! Ill be managing from home with my leg raised.
Easter Intensive starts tomorrow and then back to weekly swims from 14 April….and a term tinged with some sadness as its the last term for some of my wonderful assistants who have been with me for years. They also trained through Aquability to get their teaching qualifications which I hope they will continue to use when they set off to University in September.
